TOWER FALLS

Tower Falls - Yellowstone

Pictured above is Tower Falls which is located in the Roosevelt/Tower area of Yellowstone National Park. According to the research I have done, Tower Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Yellowstone National Park, next to the Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon.

It is located along a half a mile deep, switchback downwards that takes you to the bottom of the waterfall. It is located in a canyon near the Tower Falls General Store and is 132 feet in height.

If you feel like you are not up to the long steep trail to the bottom of the waterfalls, a short walk from the Tower General Store will take you to an overlook and give you an excellent view of this amazing waterfall.

This trail is also accessible in the wintertime, but skiers should pack in shoes that are appropriate for descending this trail because this trail can become very icy in the winter. It is well worth the trip in the wintertime because what you will see is the entire waterfall encased in an ice dome.

No matter what time of the year you visit Tower Falls, please be cautious and observe all of the posted rules and regulations.
