TREAT YOURSELF TO A STAGECOACH RIDE IN YELLOWSTONE

Stagecoach Ride - Roosevelt Lodge

There once was a man named John Yancey. He built the first hotel in Yellowstone National Park and he built it in Pleasant Valley. He named his establishment Yancy's Pleasant Valley Hotel. The hotel itself is long gone, but the site where the hotel once stood is now the site of the Roosevelt Old West Dinner Cookout.

This cookout is held nightly during the summer season in Yellowstone. You can travel to this cookout by either a one hour or a two-hour horseback ride or, if that is not your taste, you may take a covered horse-drawn wagon. Along the way, whether you are on horseback or in the stagecoach, your Wrangler will provide interpretive information about the area and its history.

The cookout includes steak and an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring Western-style foods as well as entertainment by singing cowboy.

You may check at Roosevelt Lodge or with Xanterra Parks and Recreation regarding information as to the cost of the cookout as well as the timeframe.
